EMOTIONAL BUT EMOTIONLESS.

You can all thank the prophet DRAKE for this blog post…. Yes, most of the things I write for God are inspired by secular songs and tik tok. I’m not sorry. Jesus still gets all the glory. In the world that we live in (most of us hate to admit it), but we are very emotional people. We might not like to show our emotions and be good at bottling them up, trying to be all “emotionless,” BUT we are emotional. We go through our days with this imaginary chip on our shoulders that other people and sometimes we ourselves cannot see - just waiting to fall, get stepped on, and crumble to pieces…. Then we become triggered. You see, emotions are the one thing that our world, even through its 2,000 years plus of existence cannot figure out even after attending hours of counseling or attending church. We still don’t know how to handle them fully. You see in reality, emotions are the access & doorway to being open & honest with not only those around us, but ourselves. Which is taboo…. In the song Emotionless by Drake, we hear and become convicted by how we literally can make everything seem so picture perfect to the outside world, even when in reality it's broken on the inside. Honestly, after listening to this song, I felt like I was actually being catfished by everyone around me. Today I want to encourage someone who has been under the pressure of being emotionless, who’s been told that their emotions aren’t valid, and encourage the one who’s been told to “just give them to God” (which you should)… I want to encourage you to lean in. The part of the word emotion that sticks out to me the most is motion. When you break this down to be even more simple… because we all like things simple it means - to take action in being moved forward! So today, tomorrow, or whenever you are ready to come to reality with your emotions, I want to challenge you to take action in moving forward. Whatever that looks like. If you know Jesus, make sure you invite him along for the process, the steps, and feels that are going to come. Now, if inviting Jesus along the process is a foreign concept to you, I want to help you understand that this is simple. That a relationship with Him is simple, even if humans try to over complicate it and have turned you off from it. But I fully believe that when you add in Jesus to your life and allow Him to walk with you in the process of life...real life change can happen. Breakthroughs can take place and setbacks can’t hold you down. So whatever you are trying to cover up and be emotionless about today, it's time to step away, and time to be emotional. Let your emotions push you forward to the goal of who you are created to be.
